
The Saturday part of the conference will be held in the Prospect Building at the Sir Tom Cowie at Peters of the University of Sunderland.
The Friday night listening session is at the Fire Station music venue in the centre of city.
If arriving by car please follow signs to the University Car Parks or the National Glass Centre, SR60GL. Parking will be free at St Peters on the day of the conference, and after 6pm on the City Campus ( SR1 3QN gets you the closest) for those attending the event at the Fire Station. Note: Both of our campus postcodes will direct you to the front of the buildings, rather than car parks)
If arriving by rail, you can walk from Sunderland station or use the Metro for connections via Newcastle and walk from St Peters. There are several direct trains from London to Sunderland via York each day. If travelling from other cities by rail or air, you’ll need to transfer to the local Tyne and Wear Metro.

Accommodation
There are a good a mix of places to stay in the city, from seaside bed and breakfasts to chain hotels, including 2 Travelodge Hotels, a Premier Inn, a Hilton Garden, and a Holiday Inn.

Travelodge High Street West – budget accommodation in the oldest part of Sunderland
Holiday Inn – A new hotel in the heart of the cultural quarter
Seaburn Inn – A modern hotel on the seafront, it’s some distance from the campus, but the views may be worth it.
Roker Hotel – A traditional hotel on the Roker seafront, about 15 minutes walk from the campus
Premier Inn (City Centre) – A city centre hotel within walking distance of the campus and public transport hubs
